Bio
Alex Ho is an oil painter and mixed media artist from Whitehall, Pennsylvania, with a Fine Arts degree from LCCC. His work blends photorealistic portraits with conceptual ideas, using personal photos and sculptures as a foundation for exploring balance, emotion, and connection.
What began as painting for others grew into a deeper practice rooted in storytelling and personal expression.
I love to draw with pen but most of my work is grounded in oil paint, building each piece through careful layering and texture, often blending and adding gestural marks, to create depth and movement. I start with my own photographs—moments of quiet intimacy—and sketch loosely onto canvas, allowing the composition to shift as emotion guides the form. Glazes, scumbles and deliberate contrasts between light and shadow invite a dialogue between the seen and the felt. Through this process, I don’t just preserve a moment—I offer it as a mirror, a portal, a place to feel seen and heard.
